Today is a clear day, rather than a free day. I've been working on "Larks' V", reading and developing my rudimentary computer skills. Pat looked in this morning to take some equipment back to the apartment & play me some music he thinks I should be listening to. And we listened to 2 developing pieces of ProjeKct X in preparation for Btv.

17.15 Yippee! I've spoken to the Little Horse! The 'phone rang upstairs and, just out of the shower, I went to the bottom of the stairs in anticipation of Adrian appearing to tell me it was Vic Garbarini. But no - Toyah calling from the Isle of Langkawi in Malaysia. I called right back (twice - once wasn't enough). The temperature on their exotic and unspoilt isle is about 28C. Horse and Him have both been having absence pangs yesterday and today.

ProjeKct X is developing very well. This is a Crimson alter ego. Crimson's blowing side wasn't really publicly available, other than to enthusiasts, until DGM began releasing archive recordings (notably "The Great Deceiver"). Until then, in the (greater) public perception Crimson was a progressive rock dinosaur with (primarily) a written repertoire.

PX is not music I would expect from King Crimson. But were I 18-21 again, and unknowing of KC, this would intrigue me. And then when I discovered the players I might be astonished. Longtime Crim watchers probably won't be surprised, in principle, at this ongoing development (in Fragmatic terminology) on the edge of chaos. In practise, I bet audiences will divide along generational lines.

And my dinner with Vic & Katie is postponed.
